Description

Wanting a change in direction from their previous album Rio, Seven and the Ragged Tiger is a synth-pop and dance-driven record, with emphasis on synthesiser-based textures. The album’s title was devised by Le Bon and taken from the unreleased track of the same name. The “seven” refers to the five band members and their two managers, while the “ragged tiger” is success: “Seven people running after success. It’s ambition. That’s what it’s about.”

The band’s first and only UK #1 album. It also charted at #8 in the US, eventually going double platinum. Duran Duran supported the album with a worldwide concert tour that yielded several concert films and a live album.
